**Quebec City, May 30, 2025** – On the eve of the second annual March for Life in Quebec City, taking place this Saturday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. in front of the National Assembly, Georges Buscemi, President of Quebec Life Coalition (QLC), is issuing a heartfelt call for Quebecers to stand up in defence of the right to life of every human being, from conception to natural death.

This march, organized in the very heart of Quebec’s capital, comes amid censorship of pro-life voices. The recent last-minute cancellation by the Delta Hotel of a peaceful, lawful pro-life dinner event — following anonymous threats and pressure from pro-abortion groups — is a troubling sign of the times. The hotel also abruptly cancelled more than 30 room bookings associated with the event.

“When the killing of unborn children is normalized and treated as a right, it comes as no surprise that intimidation and threats are used to silence those who defend life,” said Georges Buscemi. “What happened at the Delta is disgraceful — and the complicit silence of our authorities is alarming.”

**A Matter of Fundamental Rights**

As Quebec marks the 50th anniversary of its Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, QLC reminds the public that the very first article of that Charter states: “Every human being has a right to life.”

“Why is virtually no one talking about this anniversary?” asks Buscemi. “Could it be that this principle makes us uncomfortable, now that society refuses to recognize the humanity of the smallest among us?”

Saturday’s gathering aims to give voice to unborn children, to women hurt by abortion, and to all those who defend justice for the most vulnerable. The event will feature music, speeches, a peaceful march around Parliament, and testimonies from post-abortive women — including a woman who survived a failed abortion attempt.

**A Climate of Tolerated Violence**

The dinner cancellation followed a campaign of intimidation carried out by self-identified “antifascist” groups who publicly posted their threats on social media. According to QLC, these groups operate with disturbing leniency from authorities. “One has to wonder whether these groups have effectively become state-tolerated ideological militias, doing the dirty work the government can’t legally do,” Buscemi said.

**A Call to Action**

Despite this pressure, Georges Buscemi invites all citizens of good will to join the March for Life, rain or shine:

**Saturday, May 31, 2025 - Starting at 11:00 a.m., in front of the National Assembly, Quebec City**

“Rain must not stop us. Our moral outrage at abortion and the threats against pro-lifers should move us to action. We must rise up now, because in Quebec, human life is being abandoned — and the elites remain shamefully silent.”

QLC also calls on authorities to show consistency and courage by upholding the right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, even when it runs counter to the dominant media narrative.

**Montreal, May 1, 2025** – Quebec Life Coalition (known as Campagne Québec-Vie in French) congratulates the 42 pro-life Members of Parliament elected in the recent federal election. Although the Liberals secured a narrow victory overall, these results reflect the growing strength of a broader conservative movement—one increasingly supported by working-class families and immigrant communities who are rejecting radical gender ideology and the premature sexualization of children in favour of faith, family, and life.

This awakening is not limited to Canada. Across the United States and Europe, nations are pushing back against a destructive form of modernity that denies foundational human values and traditions. Quebec Life Coalition is proud to stand in solidarity with this global shift, and to place the 2nd Quebec March for Life squarely within that broader movement.
This year’s March coincides with a significant milestone: the 50th anniversary of the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms. It is an opportunity to recall its very first article:
“Every human being has the right to life.”

And yet, each year in Quebec, nearly 20,000 unborn children are denied that right through abortion. This grave injustice must end.

**Montreal, March 12, 2025** - The Association for Asbestos Victims of Quebec (AVAQ) is organizing a virtual conference on **Tuesday, March 18, 2025**, at 7 p.m. to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Thetford miners' strike.

This event highlights the struggle of the miners and their families for health and safety at work, emphasizing the importance of measures taken since 1975 to reduce asbestos exposure. Although the mines are closed and the use of asbestos has been banned in Canada since 2018, mine residues continue to release fibers into the air, endangering the health of the residents of Thetford and asbestos-containing regions.

AVAQ will present the results of measures taken in Black Lake, where asbestos fiber concentrations were analyzed in 2024. The event also aims to demand more transparency from the National Asbestos Observatory (ONA) and the Ministry of the Environment.

**Our speakers:**

Mr. Jacques Létourneau, a native of Thetford Mines and former president of the CSN. Ms. Micheline Marier for the historical aspect and Mr. Daniel Green for environmental measures.

**Valencia, Spain, November 23, 2024** - Mestalla stadium was the scene of an emotional tribute paid by Valencia CF to the victims of the recent DANA (Isolated Depression in High Areas) that struck the Valencian Community.

In a gesture of solidarity, supporters filled the stands with the colors of the Valencian flag—red, yellow, and blue—creating a moving mosaic of unity and resilience. A huge Valencian flag was unfurled on the field as part of the ceremony, while banners bearing the words "Amunt Valencians" and the names of the affected areas reminded everyone of the shared pain and strength of the community.

This tribute was a profound expression of Valencia CF's commitment to its roots, proving that football goes far beyond the game: it is about supporting and uplifting the people who make up the heart of the club.
