NioBay Completes Metallurgical Work on Crevier Project

MONTRÉAL, April 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NioBay Metals Inc. (“NioBay” or the “Company”) (TSX-V  NBY) (OTCQB: NBYCF), is pleased to announce the completion and successful results of its metallurgical and hydrometallurgical test work. This work was carried out using mineralized 10 metric tonnes bulk sample from the Crevier niobium (Nb) and tantalum (Ta) project (the “Crevier Project”), of which the Company owns 72.5%, with the remaining 27.5% held by Niobec Inc. (a division of Magris Performance Materials Inc.). The Crevier Project is located approximately 50 km north of Girardville and about 150 km from the Niobec mine. It lies within the Nitassinan (ancestral territory) of the Pekuakamiulnuatsh, whose main population center is Mashteuiatsh.

NioBay Metals Inc. has recently announced the successful completion of metallurgical work related to its Crevier Project, located in Quebec, Canada. The results indicate a favorable outcome that enhances the project’s potential viability and development.

The metallurgical testing carried out by NioBay aimed to evaluate the extraction and recovery rates of niobium and tantalum from the mineralized zones in the Crevier deposit. The process involved several phases, including initial sample collection, various tests, and overall analysis aimed at optimizing the extraction processes.

One of the noteworthy findings from the metallurgical study is the high recovery rate of niobium. The testing revealed that more than 75% of the niobium content could be successfully extracted through the implemented methods. This extraction efficiency is crucial as it supports the project's economic feasibility by ensuring that a significant portion of the valuable minerals can be recovered during operations.

Additionally, the tests demonstrated promising results for tantalum recovery, further validating the dual-mineral strategy of the Crevier Project. Successful tantalum extraction sets the stage for not only increasing the potential revenue from the project but also enhances its attractiveness to investors and stakeholders.

Through these metallurgical advances, NioBay aims to progress toward the next steps in the project timeline, which includes further resource estimation and environmental assessment processes. The company is committed to maintaining transparency and engaging with local communities as they move forward in harnessing the valuable resources at Crevier. NioBay expects to provide additional updates as the project progresses, including details on the next phases of development.

In conclusion, the completion of the metallurgical work represents a significant milestone for NioBay Metals Inc. and the Crevier Project, indicating a strong foundation for future exploration and mining activities aimed at serving global markets for niobium and tantalum.
