Quick facts
Heritage is a source of pride for Gatineau residents and the City recognizes the need to protect and enhance it.
This project was realized thanks to a financial contribution stipulated in the cultural development agreement. This agreement is between the City of Gatineau and the Ministry of Culture and Communications (MCC).
In June 2017, the City adopted the 2018-2020 action priorities for cultural and heritage policies. It also authorized the signing of the $ 4,153,667 Cultural Development Agreement 2018-2020 with MCC.
This initiative is part of the action plan to continue promoting heritage in Gatineau.
It is also part of:
- The council's orientation to invest in Gatineau's culture, local history, heritage and identity;
- The Aylmer Heritage Square Project, led by the City in collaboration with various partners in the community.
