Québec, le 15 mars 2023 – Leclerc Groupe Hôtelier se porte acquéreuse de deux hôtels importants du secteur Vieux-Québec, les hôtels Champlain et AtypiQ. L’entreprise est dirigée par les hommes d’affaires Jacques, Jean-François et Nicolas Leclerc, lesquels sont déjà propriétaires de Leclerc Communication et des stations de radio WKND 91,9 et BLVD 102,1 à Québec et WKND 99,5 à Montréal.

Il s’agit de la première incursion dans le domaine de l’hôtellerie pour le groupe, qui ajoute ainsi 83 chambres et trois immeubles à son portefeuille.

Situé tout près du Centre culturel Morrin Centre, sur la rue Sainte-Anne, l'hôtel Champlain opère dans un bâtiment centenaire qui abritait autrefois était des appartements, lequel a su conserver son cachet. Il compte 55 chambres et suites spacieuses, contemporaines et chaleureuses.

L’hôtel AtypiQ, établissement voisin, composé de 33 chambres, est quant à lui tout nouveau, ayant ouvert ses portes à l’été 2022. Il représente le parfait équilibre entre l’hôtel traditionnel et l’auberge de jeunesse, mariant le confort du premier et la convivialité et l’esprit de communauté de la seconde.

Les hôtels Champlain et AtypiQ étaient jusque-là propriétés de Mme Michelle Doré, femme d’affaires bien connue à Québec pour son implication pour la promotion et la défense du domaine de l’hôtellerie. « Créer une entreprise familiale, la développer avec ses enfants, Marc-Antoine et Vincent, la faire croître, se soucier des clients dans les moindres petits détails, ça a été notre vie au cours des dernières décennies.
